Fabris McIver Hornquist & Radcliffe was founded in 1980 and serves clients with a wide variety of legal needs, and in matters ranging from simple to highly complex.
We represent individuals, partnerships and corporations in a variety of ways. Our clients include those in private industry, insurance companies, financial institutions, retail outlets, contractors, service industries, professionals and individuals from Nanaimo and throughout British Columbia.
In the area of wills and estates we act for administrators, executors and trustees of estates with respect to probate and administration matters and assist in the preparation of wills, trusts and powers of attorney.
Our firm also has a great deal of experience in assisting clients with real estate transactions, subdivisions, lease agreements, mortgages, agreements for sale, easements, rights of way and foreclosures.
In litigation we serve clients who have disputes related to personal injuries, ICBC claims, products liability, personal and commercial contracts, employment matters, builder’s liens, commercial and residential construction, real estate and property transactions, property damage, trespass, and estate litigation.
Our lawyers tend to specialize in preferred areas of practice and consult each other regularly to review matters and share expertise on behalf of, and to the benefit of, our clients.
Our lawyers are assisted by trained support staff who work together to ensure prompt service to our clients. Both lawyers and support staff attend continuing legal education courses to maintain the high standards of service we strive to provide to our clients.
Our lawyers and staff have the benefit of up-to-date office and computer equipment and we maintain our own firm law library for research purposes. Information available within the firm is supplemented by access to various computerized databases, and law libraries, in courthouses and universities throughout the Province and Canada.
We are easily accessible by public transportation systems and have ample on-street parking right outside our office doors.
We subscribe to the highest standards of legal ethics and any work performed for you will be handled in the strictest confidence. We will regularly keep you informed of the progress of any matter for which we have been retained either by telephone, correspondence or meetings.
Our fees are generally based upon the time, responsibility and expertise involved in a matter and, as a general rule, work performed will be charged on an hourly basis. Some matters may be handled exclusively by a single lawyer, while others may require the services of multiple lawyers, depending on the subject matter and complexity of the file. Some matters will be performed for a flat fee and, in some cases, on a contingency basis. We find it appropriate to discuss the fee arrangement with you during your initial consultation with our firm. We may bill periodically for lengthy matters rather than upon completion of the work.
